The 50s Burstbucker represents Gibson’s drive to recapture the magic of the original Patent Applied For humbucker™ pickups. The Gibson 50s Burstbucker successfully captures the subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone with historically unbalanced coil windings. They produce an airy, full tone, and when overdriven, they achieve a magical distortion with the slightly enhanced highs that made the originals famous.

The new 50s Burstbucker™ humbucker™ pickups are now wound with plain enamel wire, feature asymmetrical coils, and Alnico 2 magnet for a sweet, vintage-style tone. The 50s Burstbucker is potted to eliminate microphonic feedback and comes equipped with vintage braided two-conductor wiring.

Specifications

Position: Any

Magnet: Alnico 2

Wiring: 2 Conductor

Cover: Nickel

Double Black Bobbins

Wax Potted

Average DC Resistance: 8.3k

Wound with historically-correct 42 AWG plain enamel wire

Details: Historically accurate Patent Applied For replica with a sweet, vintage-style tone and unbalanced coils.
