It was designed specifically to allow live sound engineers to surmount the unique challenges of creating accurate and repeatable measurements of IEMs in the field, outside of laboratory conditions and equipment. Critically, IEM measurement requires a tight and consistent acoustic seal between the monitor and the coupler where even small variations can result in significant variance in the measurement. The TM2 is designed to surmount these issues and provide a means for accurate and repeatable IEM measurement, without the high cost of specialized laboratory grade equipment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe base of the TM2 houses a built-in microphone element that connects to your audio interface using an XLR cable, and is supplied with phantom power from the mic preamp. The IEM is then inserted into the coupler and driven via the audio interface’s headphone output. Four adapters are included with the TM2, including “small” and “large” to accommodate standard stem sizes for universal-fit IEMs, a Custom Tip adapter, and an Ear Sim \/ Calibrator adapter.
